SUMMER WRITING COURSE
Writing With Blueprint Pre-College Summer Programs
Open To High School Students Entering Grades 9 – 12
How often do we use the written word in our lives? Every. Single. Day. Would you like to explore turning your own creative writing into cutting-edge advertising? Or would you prefer to work on starting the next hit lifestyle blog? How about working in the publishing industry, the songwriting industry or perhaps even penning the next great novel? Maybe there’s a few different writing careers that fit your interest but you aren’t sure which area to focus on moving forward. With Blueprint’s summer writing programs for high school students, we can help you with that!
What Is Writing?
Ever since humans learned to write, certain of us have taken on the responsibility to tell the stories of our times. These people are known as writers, and you can be one, too! In today’s world, the options to communicate your tales are infinite. As the mediums change, the one thing that will stay the same is the multitude of fulfilling careers in writing. Writers have learned to adapt to succeed in spreading their message – and with a pre-college course in writing – you will, too.
Whether it is through creative writing, non-fiction, or as a playwright or screenwriter, you can showcase your unique point of view and skills – on your own terms. What about reporting on our world? Well, an interest in writing can lead to careers in journalism and magazine editing as well. The options are only limited by your creativity and, therefore, there are no limitations!

Staff Spotlight – Tawni Auxier
Writing – Lehigh
Tawni Auxier is an award winning writer and poet. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of New Orleans and teaches Creative Writing at various universities, conferences, and retreats throughout the U.S. and Mexico. When she isn’t writing or leading your pre-college program, she loves to act, travel, follow rock bands, and burn toast. (She can’t cook.) Reading is so much a part of her person, it has ceased to be a hobby and now serves as a vital and constant life function, akin to breathing.
Blueprint was the best part of my summer. It gave me a taste of college and helped me discover the type of college I would like to attend. I would not pass up a chance to do this program.
The best experience of my daughter’s life. Her words. Thank you!
By the second day we had each other laughing hysterically on our way back from the dining hall! I couldn’t believe how quickly we all became friends.
