The University of Virginia is one of the finest public universities in the country and is located in a perfect college town, Charlottesville, Virginia. The brainchild of U.S. President Thomas Jefferson, the University was founded in 1819. The University is highly competitive with more than 90% of incoming freshmen ranking in the top 10% of their high school class. UVA has a lot to offer as a Blueprint summer program for high schools students.
UVA is one of the original Public Ivies and has the sole distinction of being the only university campus in the U.S. that is a designated World Heritage Site. In U.S. News and World Report’s National rankings in 2013, the publication listed UVA as the 2nd best Public Ivy, tied with UCLA.

TUITION FOR BLUEPRINT @ UVA – PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE
Tuition is designed to cover everything your high school student will need while at their pre-college summer program! University housing. On-campus activities. Supervision. Classroom instruction. Three meals per day. Everything! You won’t even need to submit an additional application fee! We do suggest a little “walk around” money if students want to pick up snacks and things like that, but unless you want us to meet your student at the airport or your course has a small lab fee to cover materials, your program tuition covers absolutely everything! UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA PROGRAM ENROLLMENT
Enrollment in Blueprint Summer Programs at UVA is limited. Online registrations are accepted on a rolling basis until the program is sold out. To reserve your space, we strongly recommend completing our online registration process as early as possible.
UVA’s designated airport is Charlottesville-Albemarle (CHO). Students traveling to the program by plane may request Blueprint’s Pick-Up/Drop-Off service during the online registration process for an additional fee.
Blueprint Summer Programs at University of Virginia offers courses that are both fun and rewarding. Our Core Four – Business, Computer Science, Psychology and Forensic Science – are available at all program schools. We also offer six Career Courses that vary by location. These courses take advantage of campus and community amenities, and have highly limited availability.

Engineers don’t just understand our world. They design it. If you have an inquisitive, analytical mind for math, engineering could be your perfect plan. This class will explore the different disciplines within engineering, from mechanical and marine to electrical and environmental. Psychology is a favorite course for college students – and Blueprint students – for obvious reasons. (Serial killers! Body language! Experiments!) Students will spend time focusing on the ins and outs of behavioral science. Charlottesville is the perfect place to be if you love life in a classic college town! About 2 hours southwest of D.C., Charlottesville is full of restaurants, theaters and historic sites. We’ll take full advantage of the town during your program so get ready for some new adventures with your friends and the Blueprint Staff!

UVA has some of the most beautiful, historic and also modern facilities in the country. You’ll reside in UVA’s gorgeous dormitories off the rotunda with other Blueprint students and staff members during your program and you’ll leave amazed!
- UVA’s Beautiful Campus
Jefferson was completely thorough when he helped pen the Declaration of Independence, but he was just as calculating planning UVA’s “Academical Village” as he called it. Built on land purchased from James Monroe, the 5th President of the United States, UVA is as bucolic as it is beautiful. Beware: Step foot on this campus and you might not ever want to leave!

UVA PROGRAM STAFF
For each program, Blueprint hires a skilled crew of directors, teachers, resident advisers. Our directors oversee all aspects of program life and ensure that each student has the opportunity to become an active member of the community. Courses are taught by gifted teachers and talented professionals. We recruit only the brightest and most passionate teachers to connect with our students. Our resident advisers act as big brothers and sisters to students while they’re away from home. They help students acclimate to new settings and guide them through little challenges along the way.
UVA ACTIVITIES + TRIPS
We know it’s hard to imagine leaving Charlottesville, even if for a few minutes this summer, but road trips are part of learning about college so it’s time to hit the road!

Buckle up because Wednesday the 16th we’re riding the Berserker, the Anaconda, the Blackout Stunt Coaster, the Dominator, Droptower, Flight of Fear, Grizzley, Hurler, Intimidator 305, Ricochet the Shockwave … you get the idea. And if you don’t dig rides there’s plenty for you too!
