You should know by now Blueprint prides itself on being three things. Personal. Innovative. And FUN! While learning can be fun (our instructors prove that every day!), sometimes you just need to get out of the classroom and off campus. So, every Friday, we’ll be taking a moment to tell you about our awesome trips! Each week we’ll highlight a different campus and share the places students will be going on our Wednesday and Super Sunday Trips.
College is about learning and education. It’s also about having fun and exploring! You will spend some evenings and weekends cramming for your finals or struggling through that 10-page term paper. But, you’ll also have some free time. Plus, you’ll be surrounded by awesome friends, ready for a grand adventure!
1st Wednesday Roadtrip – Cedar Point
After a packed first three days on campus, you’ll be ready to relax and unwind at Cedar Point! Better known as the roller coaster capital of the world, Cedar Point offers 18 world-class coasters. New in 2016: The Valravn takes you 223 feet into the sky, holds you over the edge for 4 seconds, then takes you down to 90-degree dive at the bottom…75-mph. Love thrills? You won’t want to miss this!
Not in to rides and roller coasters? That’s okay too. Spend the day hanging out with your new friends! Watch a show at the Extreme Sports Stadium. Play a round or two of mini-golf. Or talk a stroll along the mile-long beach.
Though Detroit may not seem like your idea of a perfect summer destination, Blueprint’s day in the Motor City is sure to impress. Get out of Ann Arbor’s college town feel and into the big city. Start you day at the Detroit Historical Museum. Enjoy music? Discover the legacy of Detroit’s music scene with everything from rock to Motown at the Rock Music Lab. Love cars? The America’s Motor City exhibit highlights Detroit’s auto industry and shows exactly how Detroit earned it’s famous title.
After the Historical Museum, continue exploring the city at the famous Institute of Art and then on to the Detroit Zoo. Lions, tigers and bears? Oh my! While there, don’t forget to stop by to see the adorable penguins. If you just can’t wait (we definitely can’t!)…check out the penguin live stream!
4th of July – Whitmore Lake Fireworks
Worried about missing out on 4th of July fireworks? Blueprint’s got you covered! Visit Whitmore Lake, where the fireworks are shot off over the water. Stroll along the shore with music, games and a 4th of July parade, before taking in the popular annual firework show.
2nd Wednesday Roadtrip – Eastern Michigan Univ. & Argo Cascades Rapids
After spending a week at University of Michigan, explore another campus with a tour of Eastern Michigan University. Ranked one of the best business programs in the country by the Princeton Review, Eastern Michigan’s 2,500 undergrads is a nice contrast to the big, state school of UMich.
