Welcome Student Advocates!

Click To Read A Message From Blueprint Co-Founder Justin Laman

Dear Student Advocates,

My name is Justin Laman and I am the Co-Founder and Chief Enrollment Officer of Blueprint Summer Programs. I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome those of you who might be new to Blueprint, and to say hello to those of you who know us well!

Blueprint has been hosting sponsored students for the past 7 summers and your enrollment numbers are consistently growing in our ranks. Because of this, we have made key changes to the summer programs to ensure our partnership delivers exactly what your students need.

Like your organization, what sets Blueprint apart from other educational groups is our dedication to College and Career Readiness. At Blueprint, each day begins with an hour-long CCR seminar, and we invest a full day each week exclusively to college preparedness. This shared mission is why our relationship is so important and so useful to your students. On top of daily college prep, each student chooses a course to immerse themselves in for the 1 or 2 week program. We offer 10 courses from which to choose, anything from Medicine to Business. Their chosen course can help students test the waters of a college major and help in their college selection journey.

But there is also something else that sets Blueprint apart from other summer programs: our dedication to making this easy for you! I’ve worked with some of you for years so you can attest to how our systems have adapted to make your job of placing students in summer programs efficient, clear and easy. And 2019 is going to be the best year yet!

A few examples: All of your students get into Blueprint. No applications, essays or transcripts. A guaranteed seat at the program. All student medical forms are uploaded online. Students register without deposit and we present you with rosters on request. Students can drop out or be added without penalty late into the year.

Those are just a few key examples of how we have strived to eliminate the pain points felt by you and your peers. That being said, we are always learning from you and want to know how we can help. If you need anything or have any recommendations please let me know.

This year we have developed a webpage specifically for you with information on how to register your students, dates, deadline and costs. Please bookmark this page for quick reference.

My dedicated job at Blueprint is to work with educators like you. Please consider me your personal pre-college program assistant and guide. The best way to reach me from 9-5 is via email or at 202-747-3277. After hours please feel free to call or text me at 828-565-1339.

We hold Harlem’s Children’s Zone in the highest regard and are looking forward to another great year. Blueprint’s entire staff are incredibly excited to deliver the most impactful and fun pre-college summer programs to your students and I speak for all of us when I say, “Welcome, it’s going to be an awesome summer!”

Sincerely Yours,

Justin

Since 2007 Blueprint has partnered with foundations, charter schools and non-profits from across the country to provide the best residential, pre-college summer programs for thousands of high school students, just like yours! This Educator’s Registration Guide is here to answer many common questions about Blueprint and our pre-college summer programs, but also to serve as an introduction to just how easy it can be for your students to find, register for and attend a pre-college summer program.

We’ve been working with many of you for years and have learned a great deal from the daily challenges you face. As an educator, we understand you have a lot on your plate and that each minute of your day is vital to the success of your students.

To help alleviate your workload, we have created a streamlined system for you to help your students identify, register and attend any Blueprint pre-college summer program. Welcome to Blueprint 2019!

How It Works – An Overview

You have a nearly impossible job. Anywhere from 1 to 100 students applying to countless different programs. Each has its own deadlines, dates and application fees. There’s no way to keep track of it all. The logistical challenge is just incredible and educators just like you have taught us how to make this turnkey for you. Here is what you get when your students register for a Blueprint program:

  • 7 locations and over 10 courses to choose from
  • $0 Deposit but guaranteed reservation for your student
  • A single registration code to track your students
  • One invoice
  • Lowest prices of the year locked in no matter when your students register
  • Late student placement available

Registering with Blueprint is easy! We’ve created a customized registration code for each partner program. This code will allow your students to register online without a financial deposit and will guarantee them a tuition rate equivalent to our lowest of the year.

Blueprint Tuition covers room, board, classes, instruction, course materials, daily Career and College Readiness (CCR) seminars and the Wednesday field trip for 2 week students. The only thing tuition does not cover is transportation to and from the program, along with lab fees for some courses.

2019 New Partner Capacity & Spacing – 150 Students

Sponsored students have been joining Blueprint since 2010. We have learned from you and adapted our programming to ensure each of your students has the greatest potential to succeed. Please encourage students to attend programs that will best help get them ready for college (this is of utmost importance to us!). But to help with administration and planning, we do ask that you try and spread your students over as many Blueprint locations as possible. For example, if you have 25 students who want to go to UCLA, but some are open to attending Howard or UVA, please take that opportunity to spread your students out!

2019 Registration Codes

To register your students with a Blueprint program please use the code below that corresponds with your partner location. Some Student Advocates find it easier to share their registration code directly with students, so they can register on their own. If this helps your workload, please know that we encourage this practice!

What Students are Saying About Blueprint

The classes were interesting, intimate and fun. I liked the low-stress environment and it made me want to learn. I made some lasting friendships and got to meet people from all over the country and world. I got a taste of the college experience without being overwhelmed.

Marlena

If you are considering going to Blueprint, do it! I was not sure at first, but the minute I walked into orientation the people were so nice and I learned a lot about the courses I took and even myself through this amazing experience.

Hannah

Blueprint was life changing.

Your Next Steps

1. Students Register Online

Your school-specific code is a very powerful and empowering tool for your families. It allows students to register online for any Blueprint program of their choosing. The code is essentially a 100% off coupon, so upon checkout students will experience their program costs going from thousands of dollars down to zero. But you can use the code to register all your students if that is better for you. Many counselors find it easier to register students themselves. All that you would need is basic information on your students, such as DOB, parent/guardian contact information and program location and course preferences.

2. Confirm Your Roster

Once your students have registered, we will provide you with students’ names, program locations, courses and prices for your review. Once you have confirmed your roster (by May 1), we will send you a single invoice that you can pay by credit card or check.

3. Prepare Your Students for an Amazing Experience!

This could be your students’ first time away from home. We get that. One of our goals is to ensure your students understand the amazing opportunity you are giving them and make sure they succeed at Blueprint. We will provide you and your families with program welcome packs, packing lists and the support their students needs in-program.
