Summer Forensic Science Course for High School Students
Open To Students Entering Grades 9 – 12
Are you ready to analyze data and reconstruct crime scenes? Are you interested in investigating? A pre-college course in forensic science could be a smart choice for you!
What is Forensic Science?
Many of us have been introduced to forensics through popular TV shows that feature a team of investigators fingerprinting, identifying patterns and preserving evidence to solve a case. Like their onscreen counterparts, forensic scientists apply scientific principles in crime scene investigation to further the pursuit of law and justice. They use evidence to prove or refute theories, often reporting their findings in a courtroom. Specialties? There are dozens of them. Forensic science encompasses everything from document analysis and DNA to blood spatter and ballistics.
Students who are science savvy, naturally curious and have a mind for analytics will find this course fascinating. Accuracy is also a must! After all, forensic science is the work that can make or break a case. It requires research, inductive reasoning, keeping logs and testifying. A future in forensic science may include crime scene investigation, fingerprinting, forensic investigating and more.

Staff Spotlight – Samantha Graham
Forensic Science TA – UF
Samantha grew up in Northern California where she hunted with her Dad and competed in dance competitions throughout high school. She moved to the city to attend the University of California, Los Angeles, and recently received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Anthropology. Samantha is enthusiastic, charismatic, and loves to laugh. In her free time she enjoys weightlifting and watching Supernatural!
My son enjoyed the program so much that he called and asked us if he could stay an extra week. He enjoyed the classes and activities the best. I would definitely suggest Blueprint to other parents for a summer program.
Had I known how great my Blueprint experience was gonna be, I would’ve attended the program in my earlier high school years as well. I’m glad I was able to attend it as a rising senior though; the experience has been quite unforgettable. I can confidently say I’m ready to take on college!
When I asked my daughter how she would grade her experience at UCLA Blueprint she replied: 9.5 out of 10, only because she wished it would have lasted longer!
