SUMMER VETERINARY SCIENCE PROGRAM
Summer Vet Program For High School Students
Open To High School Students Entering Grades 9 – 12
While growing up, did you (or do you currently) consider your pet a member of the family instead of just an animal? If so, how would you like to expand that love of animals into a fulfilling career working to help not only domestic animals, but all types of creatures in the animal kingdom? If you want to be part of the solution (and also have the chance to hang out with cute furry creatures all day!) then a career in veterinary science might be calling your name.
What Is Veterinary Science?
Just as doctors study and treat the complex issues of the human species, those with veterinary science careers understand how to help all types of animals. From an elephant to a hamster, each animal is unique from one another, and therefore each type has its own specialist that only not treats their diseases, but also studies and protects them.
As many different types of animals there are in our world, there are nearly as many different careers to choose from within the veterinary science field. Would you like to become a veterinarian, helping heal and treat the animals in your town? Or would you prefer to travel around the world to study (or perhaps even discover!) a brand new or emerging animal species? Perhaps you would like to teach the next generation of animal enthusiasts as a zoologist? With all these (and many more) options, where do you fit in? With a Pre-College Course in Veterinary Science, we’ll help you find the answer!
Veterinary Science With Blueprint Summer Programs
A Pre-College Summer Program in Veterinary Science will give you a front row seat to learn from the experts who have made the admirable decision to make their life’s work studying various species and types of animals. Their jobs are essential and unique, as they each do their part to learn about (and learn from!) the species that cohabitate our world.
Topics covered may include:
- Animal Behavior
- Careers in Veterinary Science and Medicine
While you will certainly learn a lot, it’s also important to remember that a pre-college program is first and foremost, a fun learning experience. What will that include? An encouraging and relaxed environment filled with peers who have similar interests? What won’t be included? Tests, homework and stress of any kind!
Our Pre-College Veterinary Program Instructors
The only thing our Veterinary Science instructors love more than animals is educating their fellow animal enthusiasts! Your awesome instructors and staff are here to prepare you for college readiness in the field and also help you understand all aspects of the animal world. Please bring any question you can possibly imagine, because they have the answers!
By the end of the course, you will:
- Become aware of the area in the Veterinary Science field that would be the best fit for you
- Have a strong knowledge of where science and animals connect
- Understand how high school students can begin their journey into the field immediately

My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her week at George Washington University! It was a wonderful experience.
