Architecture With Blueprint Summer Programs
With a Pre-College Course in Architecture, we want to show you how to take your tool box of skills today and turn it into works of inhabitable art tomorrow. And since architecture is a brand new course at Blueprint, you’ll be the first to learn insider knowledge of the trade that our instructors can provide you. The only question is – what type of incredible structure do you want to build first? With this Pre-College Summer Program – we’ll help you decide.
Topics covered may include:
- Residential Architecture
- Interior Design
- Current Trends in Architecture
- Green Design
- 2-D and 3-D Design
- Architectural History
- Urban Planning
- Landscape Architecture
While at Blueprint’s pre-college program, we want to allow high school students the chance for their true artistic inspiration to fully form. To do this, we’ve replaced tests and homework with a supportive (and super fun!) learning environment consisting of experts who want to share their first-hand knowledge with you!
Our Pre-College Architecture Program Instructors
All of our instructors undoubtedly love their work, and want to pass the torch to the next generation of successful architects. They’re here to build you up and bring out all the greatness that you have to offer the world while preparing you for college readiness.
By the end of the course, you will:
- Have a complete overview of what an architect does
- Know all the steps of building a structure – from idea conception to finished product
- Understand where you may fit in the field

Staff Spotlight – Megan Hanley
Blueprint Director of Residence Life At UConn
Megan was born in Chicago, attended college in San Francisco, and now lives in New York City. She is a former corps member of the prestigious Teach For America program, and she acted as a Resident Advisor during college. Megan is also a summer program veteran, with 10 years of experience as both an attendee and counselor. In her free time, Megan loves bringing people together for food and conversation – organizing dinner parties for her friends in the Big Apple.
By the second day we had each other laughing hysterically on our way back from the dining hall! I couldn’t believe how quickly we all became friends.
My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her week at George Washington University! It was a wonderful experience.
The staff is completely committed to making your experience the absolute best it can be. I highly recommend this program; it is truly amazing!
