SUMMER ARCHITECTURE COURSE
Summer Architecture Program For High School Students
Open To High School Students Entering Grades 9 – 12
At this point in your life, you’ve set foot inside a countless number of houses, sports stadiums, libraries, schools and office buildings. Out of all these structures – what’s the one similarity? They all started with one profession and just one person – An architect.
What Is Architecture?
Perhaps the best part of a career in architecture is that you get to showcase a unique variety of skills every single day. Architects use their mathematical brain while working on blueprints and planning their structures. They also use a scientific mind implementing the latest groundbreaking technology to make their structures green and energy efficient. And remember an architect is first and foremost an artist, creating standing structures that could be admired and appreciated for centuries.
Why is architecture such a revered and desired career choice for those with an interest in design? Few other careers allow such a clear path to seeing your idea constructed into a living work space or recreational area. What is just a tiny spark of inspiration in your mind today could turn into a massive, finished structure to be enjoyed by countless people the very next year (or even sooner!)

Blueprint Director of Residence Life At UConn
Megan was born in Chicago, attended college in San Francisco, and now lives in New York City. She is a former corps member of the prestigious Teach For America program, and she acted as a Resident Advisor during college. Megan is also a summer program veteran, with 10 years of experience as both an attendee and counselor. In her free time, Megan loves bringing people together for food and conversation – organizing dinner parties for her friends in the Big Apple.
By the second day we had each other laughing hysterically on our way back from the dining hall! I couldn’t believe how quickly we all became friends.
My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her week at George Washington University! It was a wonderful experience.
The staff is completely committed to making your experience the absolute best it can be. I highly recommend this program; it is truly amazing!
