Meet The Team

What sets Blueprint apart from other pre-college programs? It’s the staff. Really. We specialize in creating a wonderful community from all walks of life. And we don’t leave anything to chance. Our standards are so high, our selection process so thoughtful, we simply sum it up like this: “Blueprint hires angels.” We’re a team dedicated to helping students get ready for college (and beyond!).

Michael Dodson

Michael Dodson

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

As Blueprint‘s Chief Executive Officer, Michael is responsible for Blueprint’s longterm development and strategy. After transferring from UVM, Michael received a degree in political science from Emory University. Although not a part of his original college plans, he studied in Italy and Egypt. He worked as an options trader at the New York Board of Trade before developing summer programs in 2005. Michael founded Blueprint with Justin in 2007.

Justin Laman

Co-Founder & Chief Enrollment Officer

As Blueprint’s Chief Enrollment Officer, Justin is responsible for the company’s sales, marketing and recruiting efforts. He received his ABJ in telecommunications from the University of Georgia and took on the world as a journalist in New York City. He switched gears in 2003 to follow his family’s tradition of working in education and consulted with colleges in need of pre-college programs. Justin has been operating pre-college summer programs for 13 years and founded Blueprint with Michael in 2007.

Jenn Graff

Chief Operating Officer

As Blueprint‘s Chief Operating Officer, Jenn is responsible for Blueprint’s day-to-day-operations. Jenn earned a Bachelor‘s in Psychology from Western Michigan University and a Master’s in Clinical & Community Psychology from UNC Charlotte before starting her career as an adolescent and family therapist. From there, Jenn transitioned to the corporate world where she led projects, teams and operational initiatives as a project manager at a technology company. With experience supporting and developing people and organizations since 2004, Jenn is thrilled to be collaborating with so many talented individuals to set students up for success.

Chris Foy

Chief Financial Officer

As Blueprint’s Chief Financial Officer, Chris is responsible for all company financial functions and controls. He received his MBA from the University of South Carolina where he also received his undergraduate in Accounting and Management. Chris has over 10 years of diverse accounting and financial experience as a Manager, Controller and CFO in industries including construction, manufacturing, insurance and investments.

Darci Manzo

Darci Manzo

Director of Production

After graduating from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnology Anthropology and Political Science; Darci pursued a professional dance career, performing and teaching around the world. Darci joined Blueprint with ten years of event planning and project management experience for several renowned museums, nonprofit and youth organizations including Sundance Film Festival, Americans for the Arts, Kidspace Children’s Museum and Inner-City Arts.

Raha Obaei

Director of Program Development

After completing her degrees in History and Journalism from the University of Missouri, Raha Obaei became a middle school social studies teacher in NC. While teaching, Raha first got involved with Blueprint as a Program Director after years of summer programming experience and a love for education. While consulting on college and career readiness for a school district in Los Angeles, Raha was brought back to Blueprint as the Academic Advisor. Now with a Masters in Urban Education Policy from Brown University, she is happy to be working full time with Blueprint as our Director of Program Development. She enjoys using and collecting data, nerding out about books and college and career readiness, and cooing at just about every dog she sees.

Todd Muller

Todd Muller

Director of Human Resources

Todd is excited to become part of the Blueprint team, serving as the Human Resources Manager & Director of Recruitment. His main areas of focus are overseeing the Human Resources Department and recruiting the best program staff possible! Todd has his Bachelor‘s Degree from Penn State University and his Master’s Degree from Marist College. He spent over 15 years in the staffing, recruitment and IT industries before joining Blueprint in 2017. He is very excited to be working with such a talented team and privileged to be helping students get ready for one of the most exciting and rewarding times of their lives. When he is not working, he can be found having fun with his wife and three children, hiking, biking or just hanging around.

Katherine Bailey

Brand & Marketing Manager

Excited at the opportunity to work with such a hard-working, enthusiastic team, Katherine Brown joined Blueprint’s marketing department in January 2015. Kat earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a concentration in Graphic Design and minor in Photography from Gardner-Webb University. With experience in design, blogging, social media, advertising and operations, she seamlessly combines creativity and logistics. When not working in front of the computer, Kat enjoys anything that includes fitness and the outdoors. From hiking with her dogs to growing her own garden to running obstacle course races on the weekends.

Kellie Adkins

Kellie Adkins

National Sales Manager

Kellie brings ten years of entrepreneurial experience and a lifelong passion for education to the Blueprint team. With an undergraduate degree in Religions and a graduate degree in Nutrition and Food Science, Kellie’s educational journey is indicative of her diverse interests: from meditation to neuroscience to food as medicine. As a certified yoga therapist and business mentor to the wellness community, Kellie’s professional experience includes sharing her expertise in a variety of settings: from yoga studios to board rooms. When she’s not geeking out on the neuroscience of behavior change, you can find Kellie knitting, hiking, cooking, or doing partner yoga with her 7-year-old.

Sarah Callahan

Human Resources Analyst & Lead Recruiter

Sarah began working with Blueprint in 2014 as a Resident Advisor. Since then, she has taken on the roles of Program Instructor, Residence Life Director and now HR assistant! Sarah brings to the table several years of HR experience as well as valuable field experience. She grew up on Long Island and went on to study Psychology and Spanish at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She also received a specialization in Developmental Disabilities and Human Services. Some things she loves - traveling, teaching yoga, working with children, playing basketball, dancing and of course, an old fashioned slice of NY pizza.

Dane Gomez

Dane Gomez

Sales Associate

Dane brings to Blueprint years of experience working with transformative programs for young people. He earned his degrees in Outdoor Education and Outdoor Ministry from Montreat College with minors in Leadership and Adventure-Based Counseling. Taking a gap year to attend a leadership development program prepared Dane for a unique college experience. He has assisted on research into what makes a program change the lives of students, then rose up to assistant director at the program that changed his, and went from attending industry conferences to presenting at them. When he isn’t out hiking, Dane can be found playing board games or eating Italian food.

For each campus, Blueprint hires its own skilled crew of directors, teachers, resident advisors and medical staff. Blueprint works tirelessly to coordinate with program school staff, scheduling activities, planning events and much more. Even our behind-the-scenes office workers strive to make your experience comfortable and convenient.

But all of the work we do, the relationships we form and the programs we develop, revolves around a single, guiding force – helping students learn about college, about life and about themselves. It’s the blueprint for our success. And for yours.

Jon Moorehead

Jon Moorehead

Program Director - UCLA

Jon Moorehead II, a native of Columbus, Ohio, has over 10 years of experience as an educator. He is most passionate about his work implementing restorative justice practices, social and emotional learning programs and life skills/character development programs for young men. He currently is attending Urusline College in the Cleveland, Ohio area completing his education administration licensure degree program with aspirations on becoming a head principal once completed. John has also spent several years working in higher education as an Advisor and as the Visiting Administrative Fellow at Harvard University with the Harvard Foundation for Intercultural and Race Relations. In his spare time he serves as the head coach of a junior varsity girls basketball team. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and is a self-described music and sports junkie. He is extremely excited to be a part of the Blueprint family and is looking forward to leading an exciting summer of programming and activities for students and staff.

Kristie Thomas

Program Director - Lehigh

Kristie Thomas has been teaching high school U.S. History in northern NJ for the last seven years. A graduate of Rutgers University (Go Knights!) with a B.A. in History and Psychology and a M.Ed. in K-12 Social Studies Education, she is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. She is PRIDE chair in her school district, which involves coordinating events to bring school staff, students, and families together in an effort to benefit the school and community. She has also worked in the camp world for almost ten years at a camp for students with special needs as a program coordinator, coordinator of staff training and division supervisor. She believes strongly that learning should be interactive and engaging, and looks forward to bringing a passion for education to Blueprint this summer! In her spare time, Kristie can be found watching as many history shows as she can get her hands on, crafting and coloring (admittedly, more about the fun than the skill), and spending time with friends and family.

Evan Brown

Evan Brown

Program Director - Georgetown

Evan Brown grew up in the District of Columbia, and spent his teenage years performing original content, hosting events and heavily involved with community based initiatives around the city. After pursuing a degree in Psychology and African American Studies at Morehouse College, he decided to go into business for himself. This has allowed him to travel, be creative and provide encouragement for others on their pathway towards greatness. Evan has immersed himself in various different fields ranging from education and property management to artist development and high profile events. Evan finds great value in being a "jack of all trades", and feels as though his diverse background and life experience are what enables him to relate to people from all walks of life. He is very enthused by the opportunity to create constructive change in the lives of others, with the intent to positively affect young minds that will one day mature and put themselves in positions to pay it forward. In addition to being artistically inclined, Evan enjoys spicy foods, good books and spending considerable amounts of time in the wilderness.

LaTonya Young

LaTonya Young

Program Director - UCLA

LaTonya Young currently teaches 6th Grade Math in Downtown Los Angeles, Pico-Union Area. She has worked in both Higher Education and K-12 in many capacities including International Education, Student Activities and Culture Programs. LaTonya currently holds a Masters in Education from Concordia University in Curriculum and Instruction and graduated with her undergraduate in Ethnic Studies from the University of California, Riverside. Her philosophy of being a lifelong learner promotes a growth mindset in herself, as well as helps her encourage students to take risks and strive for their best. When not working with students, she spends her time with her significant other, family and friends. LaTonya is a reader, Mathematician, scholar, nature person and a lover of life. She is excited to be leading a team of individuals whose passion matches her own - exposing students to life changing events.

Marcus Dumas

Program Director - Howard

Marcus Dumas, a former military brat, is currently a student at The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), Georgia Campus. He is studying the Biomedical Sciences with a concentration on Organization Development and Leadership. A Health Educator by training, Marcus enjoys working with youth and young adults, which led him to a position as a Professor at Georgia Perimeter College teaching courses in both Public Health and Personal & Community Health. He loves the fact that he gets to develop future leaders. With his strong faith, soon his aspiration will become reality. To keep him focused on his mission of being an agent of change he has uses the following mantra to encourage him daily, “ASPIRE TO INSPIRE BEFORE YOU EXPIRE!”

Joy Stevenson

Joy Stevenson

Program Director - UF

Joy has extensive experience working with youth from infancy to young adults in the Prince Georges County, Maryland and DC Public Schools. Having received a Master‘s Degree in Human Services Counseling, she’s been able to utilize her counseling, program management and leadership skills in a variety of arenas that have proven to be beneficial in the lives of youth. An administrator, author, youth advocate and motivational speaker with a passion to "extract greatness and to develop potential" in this generation of potential leaders. Joy‘s energy and compassion for students is clearly demonstrated as she captivates them with transparency, integrity and confidence. Joy is also the President/Founder of Catch Them Young, Inc. (CTY) an organization that has been given a mandate to train and equip today’s millennial youth. CTY has partnered with schools, community centers, churches, and various organizations within the Washington Metropolitan Area.
